Are the principles of the circular economy applicable to HRM? How can they be applied? And with what added value? This is what the Circular HRM project, led by the think & do tank Pour la Solidarité and involving HR Square and other partners, is exploring. In parallel to this journey, we will be providing you with a series of insights to better understand what a circular economy is (or is not). Fourth step: an inventory of its implementation in Belgium with the CRISP, which devotes one of its Courrier hebdomadaire to this topic.
Are the principles of circular economy applicable to HRM? Could they bring added value? This is what is being explored by the Circular HRM project led by the think & do tank Pour la Solidarité In collaboration with HR Square. In parallel to this journey, we are providing you with a series of insights to better understand what circular economy is (or is not). Third step: interview with Catherine Chevauché, Chair of ISO Technical Committee 323 on circular economy.
To better understand what circular economy is and how its principles could contribute to revisiting HRM, HR Square met with Emmanuel Raufflet, Professor of Management at HEC Montréal and Academic Director of the Institute of Environment, Sustainable Development and Circular Economy (EDDEC).
Circular economy refers to concepts and practices related to more responsible use of natural resources and optimization of physical and technical capital. Are the principles of a circular economy also applicable to HRM and with what added value? To answer this question, we met Emmanuel Mossay, Project Manager at EcoRes where he helps to develop the circular economy hub. He is also visiting professor in several Belgian academic institutions (UCLouvain, HEC Liège, Henallux, ICHEC, UNamur, ECAM, etc.) where he teaches new economic models.
As part of the Circular HRM project, our Belgian partner HR Square organised on 11 October 2019 an Inspiration Board on the theme of the circular economy within human resources management (HRM) in order to mobilise the knowledge and expertise of the actors involved in these topics.
